Obituary for Linda Drolet, wife of official Gary Drolet

Linda L. Drolet, age 71 of Berkley for 45 years, passed away at home surrounded by her family Friday, November 9, 2018. She was born September 5, 1947 in Ferndale to James and Barbara Watson.

Linda was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her husband and longtime official, Gary; children, David Hendricks, Deanna Hendricks, Michael Hendricks, Steven Hendricks, Meagan Hendricks, and Amber Drolet; and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 14 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM the time of the Memorial Service at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 1800 West Maple Road, Birmingham.

Upcoming Basketball Meeting

We will be going over points of emphasis and other important topics for the upcoming basketball season.

Some reminders from the last meeting:

If you missed Nate Hamptom’s rules presentation at our last meeting, please remember to log into Officials Services on the MHSAA website and watch it to receive credit. Completion of the rules presentation is a requirement to be tournament eligible.

Another requirement is to be a member in good standing with a local approved association. If you did not get a chance to register with us, you can register at the meeting on Monday or print a copy for mailing with your dues by clicking the following link:

As a reminder, we’ve been advised by MHSAA to clear out our members in good standing for each sport every year. To be considered a member in good standing with the MDAO for a sport, remember to:
1) pay your dues for the year,
2) submit an updated registration form (even if your information has not changed) and
3) attend at least two meetings in each sport you officiate.
