Additional Football Training Meeting

Due to multiple requests there will be an additional MDAO football training meeting!
Wednesday September 26 at 7:00pm
Birmingham Groves High School

We’ll be in the little theater. Enter on the west side of the school.

And remember that if you’re interested in polo shirts, pullovers and jackets with the MDAO logo on them, don’t forget to check out KV Sports in South Lyon. The t-shirts will have a heat transfer logo but the polos, pullovers and jacket will have an embroidered logo. Items may be purchased at:

Test Reminder and KV Sports MDAO Link

Thank you to all who attended the meeting last night to review the football test for post season consideration. Don’t forget to complete the exam by 11:59 pm September 13th. The MHSAA does not make exceptions if the deadline is missed.
Crew Chiefs – Please remember to email your schedule to Bob Foss at bob@detroit2auto.com. We continue to work to get observers to games and use this information to help promote officials for post season consideration.
We also had on display, last night, some demo polo shirts, pullovers and jackets with the MDAO logo on them. The t-shirts will have a heat transfer logo but the polos, pullovers and jacket will have an embroidered logo. Items may be purchased from KV Sports in South Lyon at:

Last Football Meeting September 10

The season is in full swing and our last football meeting is scheduled for:
Monday September 10 at 6:30pm

We will be going over the MHSAA postseason tournament consideration exam:
The exam is due by 11:59pm September 13, so this will be a timely opportunity for group learning while preparing for the remainder of the season.

Next MDAO Football Meeting August 20

Thank you to everyone who put in the effort to attend the annual MDAO Football Kick Off meeting last Saturday. The season is fast approaching and our next football meeting is scheduled for:
Monday August 20 at 6:30pm

Please remember that one of the requirements to be tournament eligible is be a member in good standing with a local approved association. If you did not get a chance to register with us, you can register at the meeting on Monday or print a copy for mailing with your dues by clicking the following link:
As a reminder, we’ve been advised by MHSAA to clear out our members in good standing for each sport every year. To be considered a member in good standing with the MDAO for a sport, remember to 1) pay your dues, 2) submit an updated registration form (even if your information has not changed) and 3) attend at least two meetings in each sport you officiate.

Uyl To Serve As MHSAA’s Next Executive Director

Mark Uyl’s impact on educational athletics has stretched from his hometown across this state and our country as a teacher, coach, administrator and one of the nation’s most respected voices in sport officiating. The Caledonia native and assistant director for the Michigan High School Athletic Association over the last 14 years is now charged with leading the Association as it continues in the work he has championed for two decades.

For over 12 years, the Officials for Kids outing has been one of the most affordable and most pleasurable golf outings for golfers, officials, coaches and friends of high school athletics; and we are always trying to improve the quality of that golfing experience. From once-a-year players to avid golfer, everyone thoroughly enjoys the atmosphere generated at this fine golf course. We are looking forward to another fantastic event to benefit the charity. Last year this event raised over $4,500 for Beaumont Children’s Hospital!  Thank you for your support!

Time Change for Last Baseball/Softball Meeting

Due to a scheduling conflict baseball will be at 6:30pm and softball will start at 7:30pm.
